[rɛs], Martial, französischer Maler, Grafiker und Objektkünstler, * Golfe-Juan (heute zu Vallauris, Département Alpes-Maritimes) 12. 2. 1936; Mitbegründer des Nouveau Réalisme (1960). Seine Bildmotive (u. a. Leuchtröhren), die er zu plakativen Assemblagen montiert, entstammen v. a. der Konsumwelt und Werbung oder spiegeln die Technologie des künstlichen Lichts wider. In den späten 1970er-Jahren entwickelte Raysse eine tachistisch wirkende, scheinbar naive Figurenmalerei; auch Bühnenbilder und Undergroundfilme.
